Early in the 1980s Bemis committed to removing heavy metals from colorants and finding a more accurate way to introduce color in plastic parts. By working closely with our colorant supplier, Bemis selected liquid color which uses a highly concentrated pigment suspended in a liquid carrier. The colorant manufacture requires very little energy usage, and also created a savings in both material transportation and storage costs for Bemis.
