Many plastic products actually contain additives such as glass, wood flour and other compatible materials that reduce cost or improve physical properties. At Bemis, we've used pulverized wood waste for decades, keeping it out of the waste stream. We're constantly evaluating additional sources of wood waste, agricultural waste, and manufacturing waste and byproducts that require little or no additional processing. By using these alternative materials, we're able to significantly reduce our waste stream and reduce energy usage.
