Machine Operator - 3rd Shift Full-Time

Machine Operator - 3rd Shift - Full-Time

Primary Function

Keep accurate production and quality records, working with other Operators to maintain production within the sector and contribute to the efficiency of the department by participating in improving the overall operations through personal performance or by team participation.

Tools and Equipment

SPC and quality forms and systems, forklift, hand trucks, secondary assembly and finishing equipment, color and gloss meters, various gauges and fixtures, packaging equipment and assorted other tools and equipment.

Job Duties

Maintain acceptable production levels and quality by fully utilizing SPC charting methods, performing color changes and restarts as needed, pacing machine(s) output levels, monitoring material levels for assigned machine(s), assisting Sector Team Operators during breaks and color changes, cleaning packing areas and assigned machines as needed, replenish totes and trays as needed, demonstrating ability to run all products produced in ADF, assist new and Casual Operators with questions and operating techniques, maintain liquid color supply at the machine(s), cooperate with Sector Leader regarding machine or station assignments, interpretation of company policies, alerting them to quality or production problems, etc., assist Setup, Material Handler, or Tech Support as requested and following specified requirements of the quality and production specification sheets.

Qualifications

This is a seasonal position that runs December through May that typically provides 40 hours per week. Training may begin prior to December. Thursday through Monday are the desired workdays.

Setup Grade III - ECT- 3rd Shift (3 Openings)

Setup Grade III - ECT - 3rd Shift

Primary Function

This is an entry-level position. A Grade III Setup is expected to learn set up and run current production tooling and equipment to efficiently manufacture good quality products. They should also begin to understand the extrusion and injection molding processes and parameters that can alter those processes. They should develop a basic understanding of the most commonly molded resins.

Tools and Equipment

A tool cart is supplied for each new Setup. Must be able to learn to use all tools, measuring devices, and equipment required to perform the job duties.

Job Duties

  • Set up production tooling and equipment in order to produce a good quality product.
  • Maintain records and documentation to permit standard duplication of the production equipment setup.
  • Develop an understanding of Statistical Process Control charting as it relates to solving or identifying process/product problems.
  • Begin to develop technical knowledge through trade journals, classes, etc.
  • Must attend Roundtable meetings and training programs related to the job.
  • Learn to maximize departmental resources.
  • Assist other technical team members as jobs/schedules demand.
  • Helps maintain good housekeeping.
    • Obtain a forklift license.
    • Function safely in all aspects of the position.
    • Ability to learn good business practices.
    • Learn to set priorities within a defined schedule.
    • Ability to work with a wide variety of people.
    • Work as a part of a team.
    • Patience and tenacity.
    • Able to organize work assigned and carry it out in a time efficient manner.
    • Maintain a neat work area.
