Monterrey - The City of Mountains

The state of Nuevo León is located in northeastern México, bordering the United States. The state is divided into 51 counties with a large majority of its population concentrated in the metropolitan area of Monterrey.

Monterrey, capital of the State of Nuevo León, was founded in 1596. It is situated next to the Sierra Madre Mountain Range and is framed by the famous Saddle Seat Mountain "Cerro de la Silla." The modernization and industrial development is part of the city with more than 13,800 different industries. Monterrey is also known for being the steel capital of México.

It is surrounded by beautiful mountains and natural resources such as the Garcia's Caves, Chipinque's Plateau, Huasteca's Canyon, Horsetail Waterfall, The Pastora Zoo and Bioparque Estrella, an ecological park with an area of 500 acres and 700 animals in entire freedom.

Monterrey boasts a wide variety of cultural and sports activities including museums, cultural centers, golf courses, and professional baseball and soccer teams.
